Republicans In Crisis: Only One Candidate Offers Change
-exerpt from the movie "A Man Called Peter"
November 04, 2012 - In the running for the White House the Republican party seems to have issued no real alternatives to the current administration. People interviewed in the course of this report made statements such as “nothing better on the horizon” and “no change coming in 2012.” Astoundingly some 71.2% of people interviewed said they see no change for the better coming in the 2012 elections.
Republican offerings so far are Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich. Of the current runners only Cain is not a career politician, yet he walks the Republican party line sternly. Ron Paul, who is at heart a Libertarian, is the only candidate offering a completely new direction.
Recently Paul has criticized the Federal Reserve and called for an audit of the institution. Also he has said he has strong wishes to cut the size of government by eliminating useless departments such as the department of education.
“Paul wants to take America back to its roots, re-establish power in the hands of the citizens” one person said wishing to remain anonymous. “Thankfully he hasn’t brought some corny sounding 9-9-9 or 20/15 plan like the others” said another. Several seemed to be sick of the status-quo politicians who walk the party lines of Republican and Democrat.
It should be noted that during the past couple of election cycles that independent and third party candidates have gained strength and support among voters.
