March 24, 2018 – Reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930’s-‘40’s, Pakistan’s Pakistani High Court has ruled that all citizens must
declare their religion on all national ID documents and certain job applications. Documents include birth certificates, ID cards and
passports. Also, when applying for certain jobs such as civil service or government jobs, applicants must submit paperwork declaring
muhammad was the final prophet.
This move by the High Court is believed to usher in a new era of oppression and persecution against Christians, in particular, along with those of other religions. Pakistan is currently ranked #5 on the World Watch List, which is published annually by Open Doors USA, an organization that advocates for and assists persecuted Christians globally. The World Watch List compiles data and ranks nations according to their persecution of Christians around the world.
