January 25, 2018 – This month the socialist government of China destroyed a church in Linfen, Shanxi where 50,000 Christians worshiped.
Although in place since 2009, government officials now claim the church lacked government permits for a house of worship. The Peoples’
Armed Police Forces reportedly used explosives to bring down the church and then used dozers to move the rubble. According to reports,
church leaders have been arrested and imprisoned. When the church was being built, workers were beaten and bibles seized by Chinese
government officials. ChinaAid, a Christian group working to promote religious freedom in China, said that persecution against believers
is occurring at a frequency unseen since the Cultural Revolution. Typical for socialism, Christianity is not tolerated well in China,
as Christians are routinely beaten, killed and imprisoned.
